Computer networks for business: design, cabling and WiFi

We design and build the network your company runs on. From cabling through WiFi coverage to connecting branch offices. We measure it, document it and hand it over so you can rely on it.

What will we build for you?

From a single office to a production hall with branch offices. We can deliver each part separately or as a whole from one supplier.

Network design to fit your business

We visit your premises and design the network around how your company actually works.

  • Site survey and mapping of the current state
  • Network architecture, cable routes and capacity for the future
  • Splitting the network into segments (servers, computers, guests)
  • A clear plan of what stays from the existing network and what needs to be new
→ We want a network design

Structured cabling

We install data cabling in new as well as occupied premises.

  • Cable pulling and routing
  • Copper cabling in the right category, most often CAT6 or CAT6A
  • Fibre optic cabling between racks, floors and buildings
  • Data outlets, patch panels and clear labelling
  • Every link tested after installation
  • Installation planned around your day-to-day operation
→ We need cabling

WiFi coverage without dead spots

We measure the signal on site first. That is why the WiFi works even in the meeting room at the end of the corridor.

  • Coverage measurement and access point placement design
  • Seamless roaming as you move around the building
  • Separate guest WiFi with no access to company data
  • Company WiFi with sign-in through company accounts
  • Handles a full meeting room and video calls, not just the occasional e-mail
→ We want better WiFi

Switches and active components

We supply and configure the devices that power the network, set up so the network can grow with your company.

  • Selection and supply of switches and access points
  • Internet connection set up with any provider
  • Powering devices directly over the data cable (PoE)
  • Configuration, updates and an overview of all devices
  • Ready for camera systems, printers and attendance systems
→ We want a quote

VPN and connectivity

We connect branch offices and home office workers into one company network over an encrypted VPN. It runs on ordinary internet, so you are not tied to a single operator.

  • Branches, warehouses and shops connected into one network
  • Secure work from home over VPN with two-factor authentication
  • Shared access to servers and systems from every branch
  • Independence from any particular internet provider
→ We want to connect our branches

Server room and rack

We also tidy up the place where the whole network meets. A well-organised rack saves hours on every intervention and prevents outages.

  • Rack organisation and clear cable management
  • Backup power (UPS) for the key network components
  • Labelling so that even a new technician finds their way around
  • Rebuilding existing racks without shutting the company down
  • Access control systems and physical security of the server room
→ We want a tidy rack

What does a properly handed-over network look like?

A network does not end with the last cable plugged in. What exactly your delivery includes is set out in black and white in your quote.

IT HELP technician testing structured cabling with a tester in a rack
A proper handover includes testing.

What is usually part of the handover?

This is the difference between pulled cables and a network you can build on:

  • Link testing with the measurement results handed over
  • Labelling of outlets, cables and rack ports
  • As-built documentation: wiring diagram and a list of network components
  • Configured devices and credentials handed to you, not held back by the supplier
  • Designed with headroom, so company growth does not mean another rebuild

How to connect branch offices: an operator line or your own VPN?

Telecom operators offer private lines (MPLS) to connect branches. We build encrypted VPN connections over ordinary internet. This is the practical difference:

What we compare Private operator line (MPLS) VPN over a firewall (our solution)
Lock-in The service and the lines run with one operator, changing means rebuilding Runs on any internet connection, you can switch providers at any time
A new branch You wait for the operator to install a line at the location An ordinary internet connection and a firewall we configure are enough
Work from home Handled as a separate add-on service The same VPN with two-factor authentication for branches and people at home
Who takes care of it The operator manages the line, the inside of the network stays on you We manage the connection and the network behind it, one responsibility
Who it suits Large operations with guaranteed throughput between dozens of sites Companies with a few branches, a warehouse or people in the field
Not sure what shape your network is in? We come over, measure it and tell you what can stay and what the weak spots are.

How does the network build proceed?

The first two steps are non-binding, so you decide only once you know exactly what you will get.

1 Site survey and measurement We walk through the premises, measure the signal and look at the existing cabling, rack and connectivity.
2 Design and quote We propose a solution, explain why, and you let us know whether we go ahead.
3 Installation Cabling, mounting and network configuration are planned to disturb your operation as little as possible.
4 Testing and handover We test the links, document the network and hand it over. We can also look after it long term.

Who do we build networks for most often?

Every type of operation has different demands on the network. These are the ones we meet most often.

Offices and administrationCabling and WiFi in the office, meeting room coverage, printers and a tidy rack.
Production and warehousesWiFi coverage of production halls and warehouses, scanners and terminals connected to the warehouse system.
Shops and retailA network for tills and camera systems, guest WiFi for customers under one management.
Guest houses and hotelsWiFi for guests in rooms and on the terrace, separated from the reception and booking network.
Clinics and surgeriesA separate network for devices and patient records, standalone WiFi for patients in the waiting room.
Institutions and organisationsNetworks for public bodies, chambers and missions with an emphasis on segmentation and security.

Shall we build your network too? The site survey and measurement are non-binding, and the quote comes fully itemised.

What is structured cabling?

Structured cabling is a unified system of a building’s data wiring: cables, outlets and patch panels installed and labelled to a single standard. Thanks to that, the network carries data, phones and cameras reliably, and every link can be traced, tested and extended at any time.

In practice it is the difference between a network where a technician hunts for a cable for an hour and one where the label finds it in a minute. That is exactly the kind of network we build.

Frequently asked questions

Do you install cabling in premises that are already in use?

Yes, most of our projects take place in occupied offices and operations. We plan the work in stages and schedule the noisier parts outside peak hours, so your people can keep working normally. During the site survey we agree which parts can be done during operation and which are better done outside working hours.

How much does building a computer network cost?

The price depends on the size of the premises, the number of connection points, the state of the existing wiring and whether WiFi and branch connectivity are part of the job. That is why we cannot quote it upfront without a site survey. After the survey and measurement you receive a non-binding quote itemising exactly what you pay for.

How do you determine how many access points we need?

By measuring, not guessing. We walk through the premises with measuring equipment, find where the signal is weak and where neighbouring networks interfere, and design the number and placement of access points accordingly. Thick walls, warehouse racking and the number of people in a room all change the result, so it cannot be answered responsibly without measuring on site.

Can you connect several branches into one network?

Yes. We connect branches with an encrypted VPN over ordinary internet connections, so each branch can have a different internet provider and the connection keeps working. People then access company systems the same way from headquarters, a branch or home, with two-factor authentication.

Will you take over a network someone else built?

Yes, it is a common situation. We first map and measure the network so we know what is really in it. The output is as-built documentation and a list of weak spots with recommendations. If you want a broader look at servers and computers too, see the complete IT audit.

Will you also take care of the new network’s security?

Yes, and we recommend addressing it while the network is being built, not afterwards. We segment the network, deploy a firewall and secure the WiFi and remote access. The whole topic is covered on the Network and device protection page.

We have a network, but it is slow and keeps dropping. Can you help?

Yes, and it does not necessarily mean a new network. We come with measuring equipment and find the cause: WiFi interference, an overloaded or outdated component, badly routed cabling or a weak connection. You get a list of causes with proposed fixes, and only what really needs replacing gets replaced.

We are moving to new premises. Can you prepare the network in advance?

Yes, and it is the best moment for a proper network. Ideally call us before the renovation or the move: we prepare the cabling, WiFi and rack in the new premises in advance, and on moving day the computers just get plugged in. We coordinate with your construction company.

Do you build networks outside your region?

Yes. Installations most often take place in our region and the surrounding area, and for larger projects we agree individually. Network design, configuration and remote management are available to companies nationwide.
